DIY: A Vegas Bachelorette Party

IMG_3130

FINALLY getting around to sharing a fun girls weekend in VEGAS last August! It was a crazy fun couple of days, laughing until we cried…seriously, I laughed until I cried ALL DAY, EVERY DAY. It was so good for the soul. We were there to celebrate our good friend Chloe, who got married a few weeks ago to my husbands best friend, Bryce. I know…I should have posted this before their wedding but it didn’t happen! It was my first time being maid of honor and I had no idea how busy I would be! The best kind of busy :) So…I am finally getting around to sharing where we stayed, where we ate, how I decorated and what it takes to throw the best bachelorette party ever!

Where we stayed: The Trump Tower Hotel We all agreed that our stay made our trip. This was my fifth time in Vegas and each time I have stayed somewhere different. I will stay at the Trump Hotel from here on out! Some pros and cons…it doesn’t have a casino. This was a pro for me. I don’t gamble and I’m not a fan of smoke. Although, this could be a con for you. It’s not on the strip. Before we got to the hotel, this was a con for our group. We wanted to be close to everything and were worried that wouldn’t be the case. It ended up being a major PRO! The hotel has free shuttles to the Wynn and Caesar’s Palace so it didn’t matter that we were off the strip because we always had a free ride! Major pro and pro :) I should clarify…you aren’t far off the strip…the Wynn is across the street :) But because it’s not technically on the strip it was also a much more reasonably priced hotel. With 8 girls we needed a large suite. They offer great rooms that offer LOTS of space! It was comfy, clean and had a full kitchen. The full kitchen allowed us to bring our own food and drinks…which helps your guests save money. The Trump Hotel gets two thumbs up!

Where we ate: Maggiano’s  With 8 girls, 8 opinions and hundreds of restaurants to chose from, I wanted to make sure that we all got to sit down and eat for at least one meal. I picked Maggiano’s because I had heard great things from multiple people. It was a reasonably priced meal in a cute italian restaurant. We could get dressed up, have a great meal and not break the bank. We all enjoyed our food and were pleased with the service. It was also within walking distance from our hotel. Major plus!

One of the responsibilities of the maid of honor is to throw the bride’s bachelorette party. When Chloe had decided on Vegas I was so excited! I couldn’t wait to start planning. The first thing on the agenda was to get the list of girls and pick a weekend. Once that was complete I let everyone know by sending out cute invitations!

Once our flights and the hotel were booked I picked a theme. Chloe LOVES black. A women after my own heart :) So I went with a black/white theme with of course a little gold/silver sparkle. Because it’s Vegas. Duh. From there I started to put together gift bags for each of the girls, plus the bride. I LOVED putting together these gift bags (I guess I should say, boxes) for the girls. Who doesn’t love spoiling their best friends here and there!?

Once the weekend arrived I put together a few VERY important details to make sure it was the best weekend ever! Time to take notes… :)

  1. Bring your own food and drinks (including WATER). I know this isn’t always possible, but it definitely helps save your guests money which makes everyone happy! I mean…who doesn’t love waking up to breakfast in bed and bottomless mimosas? All in your pjs. I think no one!
  2. Decorate your hotel room! It doesn’t have to be expensive or crazy. Streamers and little DIY details go a long way! And it really sets the stage for a fun girls weekend! For example, I bought two packs of plastic glasses from the dollar store and spray painted the bottom stands gold! So easy, so cheap and so festive! Also, easy to pack. IMG_3123IMG_0113.JPG
  3. Ask the Bride what SHE wants to do! Sometimes the plans don’t work out and thats okay! (I’m preaching to the choir here, this is difficult for me.) But when that happens, (and it will) make sure you communicate with the Bride regarding her wants and desires. It’s her weekend!
  4. Pack an emergency kit. From hair spray to false eye lashes and safety pins. You will be thanked!
  5. Include the bridal party in executing your plans. Not all bridesmaids are able to help but when someone offers, take the help! I am so thankful for incredible friends who helped make this weekend truly perfect!
  6. Takes LOTS of pictures…but also, unplug. This might not make sense, let me explain. I think it’s so important that the weekend is documented in pictures, but not remembered as the weekend we were all on Instagram and Snapchat. DO take pictures, DON’T spend every moment on social media. I think we did a great job at this and I love all you girls for giving Chloe your undivided attention, yet capturing important moments at the same time! :) #youlldoit
  7. Finally, let loose and have a blast! Enjoy this special time while it lasts!

I hope this information and tips help YOU throw the best bachelorette party ever! Can we go back already!?!?

xoxo, madison naomi
